The diverse co-curricular program includes giving or service activities; sporting activities and performing arts based activities. These activities are also a chance to deepen school friendships and to represent the school in a range of community-based activities.

Performing Arts

performing-artsGiving students the opportunity to develop their musical or performance ability is a focus of the extra-curricular program at Mater Christi. Activities include:

  • Glee Club
  • Choir/Choral groups
  • Musical ensembles
  • Instrumental Program
  • Dance group

Enrolments are invited from students in all year groups to join the paid Instrumental Music Programme. Students from early years can undertake tuition in Piano, Violin, Guitar, Voice and Drums. Want to enrol your child?

Sports

SportsAs part of the curriculum, Health and Physical Education provides students with an understanding of health issues and the skills needed for confident participation in sport and recreational activities.

In addition to sport lessons, students at Mater Christi participate in intra and interschool Athletics, Cross Country, Swimming and Winter Sports Carnivals. Year 1 – Year 6 students also participate in swim lessons.

Through opportunities within the local community Mater Christi students can also join a range of extra-curricular sporting teams and before and after school lessons/clinics are offered in tennis and karate.
